About presentation of the book «1914: Mobilising for the Great War»

On 20 April the presentation of the book «1914: Mobilising for the Great War» took place in the Residence of the Ambassador of Russia to Australia Grigory Logvinov. Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Australia Grigory Logvinov, Professor of the Australian Defense Force Academy and the University of New South Wales Peter Stanley, Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Security Studies of Curtin University Dr Alexey D. Muraviev, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences and Security Studies of Curtin University and editor of the book Bobbie Oliver addressed to the guests of the meeting.

The book, initially offered at a military history conference held at the Australian Army Museum, Fremantle in 2014, focuses on some less-known aspects of Australia’s mobilization for early campaigns in World War I and examines Russia’s contribution to the allied effort in World War I and the extent of fighting on the eastern front in 1914- early 1915, which predetermined the Gallipoli campaign.
